The People
Richard Hughes Technical Director
With over 19 years’ experience in the communications industry, Richard was an Event Manager for BT Ignite before forming Max WiFi in 2006.He has successfully project managed the communications for many major sporting events, exhibitions and conferences across the globe.
Richard lives in Romsey, Hampshire with Jo and their son and when time allows, Richard enjoys watching rugby, cycling and walking.
Jo Hughes Director
Jo joined Max WiFi in 2007 after running her own recruitment business for 10 years. She has brought a wealth of commercial experience to Max WiFi and is fluent in French and Spanish giving Max WiFi the edge when working on international tenders.
She lives in Romsey with Richard and their son and enjoys running and squash.
Will Jones
Will is the senior network architect and engineer at Max WiFi. He specialises in the design, configuration and support of high-performance wireless networks designed from the ground up to meet the needs of our clients specific event.
Will has great experience in delivering high-density performance orientated wired and wireless connectivity for the events industry.
Will is a Cisco certified engineer and is currently studying towards the CWNA and CCIE-Wireless qualifications.
Barny Bidwell
Barny has been involved in events for 12 years in a mixture of IT, Management and Touring roles usually combining all three. Having toured the world with Genesis, run Satellite comms for V Festival and Managed some of the countries top venues he is well aware of what is required to make your event a success.
Barny lives in Bournemouth and enjoys Cricket and Formula 1.
Dan O’Connell
Dan joined Max WiFi in 2011 after a number of year at Earls Court & Olympia working for Eforce. During his time there, Dan was responsible for the day to day running of the Eforce business and as a result has a wealth of experience in event connectivity. He has previously worked on events such as BETT, IP Expo, Internet World, Infosecurity and ICE.
As head of Operations at Max WiFi, Dan is responsible for all client liaison and is the first point of contact for all inbound enquiries.
