“Increasingly complex communications handled in a calm and efficient manner”
Max WiFi enhance communications and lower costs for Barclays Scottish Open Golf
Background: For the 2007 Barclays Scottish Open Golf Tournament, The PGA European Tour asked Max WiFi to provide the WiFi element of the event's communications' infrastructure.
Challenge: The PGA European Tour were worried about the spiralling cost and variable performance of their communications' infrastructure.
Solution: Max WiFi worked with the organisers to encourage BT to upgrade the nearest exchange and to install Broadband. This allowed the client to purchase 25 extremely high bandwidth lines to use annually, a more cost effective solution than the previous temporary arrangement. We also developed a ‘communications charging model’ that the organisers could offer their associates and suppliers.
Business Benefits At A Glance:
• We enhanced the communications to such an extent that it was feasible for the Pro-Am sponsor to ask us to set up a video conference call for one of their VIP guests at two days’ notice.
• We reduced the communications costs for the Scottish Open tournament by a hugely significant amount.
“Since switching to Max WiFi, we have found the increasingly complex communications provisions at our events are handled in a calm and efficient manner, ensuring that this critical area of events is well managed and runs seamlessly”
