What is Max WiFi doing?
Max WiFi are providing the WiFi network and Internet connectivity for this year’s London Twestival Global 2010 on the 25th March. The team at Max WiFi will manage all of the installation of lines and ADSL and complete network of routers, switches, wireless controllers and access points. With around 800 people expected to attend the event, the network will need to be very robust and Max WiFi will also be on hand throughout to provide technical support to those who need it.
On Thursday 25 March 2010, people in hundreds of cities around the world will come together to rally around the important cause of education by hosting events to have fun and create awareness. Twestival uses social media for social good. These live events are organised 100% by volunteers and 100% of all ticket sales and donations go directly to charity projects.
In 2010, the focus turns to education and to 72 million children in the world who don’t go to school. Concern Worldwide has been selected by the Twestival Global team and Twestival event leaders all around the world to be the recipient because of their comprehensive and well-respected approach to education. This is an issue that involves many different elements; hunger, water, teacher training, building of schools and more. We hope to use the power of our global event fundraising and social media influence as a vehicle to give people insight into this cause on a deeper level.
For as little as $28USD Concern can provide the books, pencils and paper a child needs to attend one year of school. Concern Worldwide guarantee that 100% of Twestival funds will go direct to project costs. This means that the money will be used for material purchases, as well as project activities such as construction of schools, rehabilitation of classrooms, teacher training, PTAs, HIV/AIDS school clubs, water and sanitation in schools, health education in schools, education advocacy, vocational/life-skills training for young people, farmers and women. Money will not be used for things like administration and overheads. Concern Worldwide requires formal reporting from their projects detailing the specific activities undertaken and how the funds were used. This system provides tangible updates and other detailed information about how programs have benefited program participants. Updates can include GPS locations of schools in receipt of funds, case studies, video clips and photos.
