Max WiFi are very pleased to announce that Adam, their Senior Networking Technician, has passed the first stage of his CCNP course. He gained his CCNA qualification in January last year and has subsequently spent the last few months working towards his BCMSN (Building Cisco Multi-Switch Networks) which forms the first stage of his CCNP qualification. When asked whether he had found it difficult to study for his exam whilst also working on site at the same time, Adam said "Fortunately the two go hand in hand. On site I am hands on and so being able to put into practice everything I am studying on a day to day basis is a real privilege. There is no better way to get to grips with the theory than by applying it in practice." CONGRATULATION ADAM!!

Max WiFi are featured in this month's Stand Out magazine. The article "Get Yourself Connected" focusses on how we have become dependant on accessing email and Internet connectivity wherever we are, whatever we are doing and whenever we want. Essentially, we have come to expect communication access 24/7 both in our work and private lives. Whether we are at a work based conference or at a weekend outdoor concert with friends, we assume connectivity regardless... and this is where Max WiFi take to the stage by PROVIDING JUST THAT! For this reason, Stand Out Magazine contacted Richard Hughes, Technical Director, to find out more about the crucial role WiFi plays at conferences and events today. "It's getting people to understand that event communications are slightly more important than the event flowers. People don't appreciate Internet access until the connectivity goes down. It's all about bandwidth; there's a lot that can be done if people just recognised it" says Richard. Fundamentally, whether you are the event organiser, the event employee, the event supplier or the event client...you will need connectivity. "Connectivity has become a "must have" and not a "nice to have" in the event world" concludes Richard.

Bandwidth has always been the biggest issue for event Internet, being able to get enough bandwidth to the event site at an affordable price is not an easy thing to do in the UK. Max WiFi has spent the year investigating various Internet service suppliers and has finally decided on a new provider for all events going forward. The new service catchly titled ADSL 2+ isn't available at every location in the uk but our new provider has over 10,000 LLU (local loop unbundled) exchanges which means we can all look forward to speeds of up 1.5Mb upstream and a scorching 24Mb downstream. This new service will bring many benefits to the event organiser including fewer ADSL circuits required or much faster speeds using our bundled broadband solution. Either way, could this be the end of the phrase "The Internet Seems a Little Slow" - we hope so ! | ||
